This mask is a superb example of Nigerian art. With it’s strong brow jutting downward to a sharp nose and finely carved mouth , this mask has great presence. This mask possesses an incredible patina with layers of encrustation. The combination of surface and carving quality make this one of the oldest and best Ibo masks I have ever handled. Some loss to the side attachment rim; but otherwise excellent condition.

The mask stands 11 inches in height.
