Royal Ancestor Figure

This is by far, one of the best examples of this type I have ever seen. The sculptural quality is second to none; and the surface from generations of use and handling gives this piece an outstanding presence. There is great tension in the body of the figure which is expressed in the pure volume of the sculpture. It’s great round buddox and powerful thick legs hold up a superbly carved body. The attention to detail is incredible; with finely carved teeth, delineated kneecaps; and a fantastic royal coiffure, this piece is a true masterwork.
