Pig Trap Amulet
Iban Dayak, Borneo, Indonesia, 19th c.

Also known as a tun-tun, this pig trap marker is a fabulous example of how varied these can be. This figure is in classic hunkered position but the facial features are menacing with its exposed teeth. The arms and legs are extremely thin and delicately carved. A pure and old minimalist example. The patina is deep and smokey with areas of exposed wood showing oxidation from age.

This tun-tun stands 20.5 inches tall and the figure is 2.75 inches tall.
