Previous collection: Phillip Konzett collection, Austria
This is a classic and old example of an Tun-Tun or pig trap marker. These objects were thought to magically enhance the trap, and was used as a gauge for determining the height of the impaling spike set up in a trap to catch wild pigs. Carved in classic hunkered form with strong negative space in between the torso. This Tun Tun has developed a black encrusted patina from generations of use and exposure. An overall fine traditional example in excellent condition.
