Part of a private collection assembled in the 1930's.
This fine ancestor figure is a great example of early PNG art. Carved from hard wood; this figure shows great inventiveness with its oversized head relative to its tightly sculpted “ normal “ sized body. The patina is deep and varied. A “ tan line “ can be seen from where this figure at one point had a fiber skirt attached. In excellent Condition.

This figure stands 20 inches tall.
