PROVENANCE: New York Collection, acquired from Komor Gallery, New York in the early 1970's.

This Bulul figure is carved in the bunney style. The figure is carved in a seated, crouched position with his arms folded on top of his knees. The face is beautifully detailed with inlaid white sea shells for the eyes and mouth. Bulul figures are often used in a protective capacity, to spiritually guard important aspects of Bulul social life.
