War Shield

This is a very old example of a Bontoc war shield. The form is striking and strong; with fantastic signs of tribal use. This shield has a wonderful encrusted patina and the old native repairs on this piece suggest this shield has seen its share of battles. The rattan is for the most part intact and there is an old label on the back that has inventory numbers.

This shield stands 34.5 inches tall.
