Dance Mask

Dan/Mau/Gio, Liberia
19th Century
Previous Collection: Van Bussel, Amsterdam

This surreal dance mask is an exceptional example of Liberian art. Both human and animal are morphed together to form a very powerful image. The patina is encrusted from years of exposure and use. This mask has never been altered or cleaned in anyway.
Important to note also; is that the back of the mask has never been ‘enhanced’ like many on the market today. A custom wall mount is included.

This mask is 25 inches tall.
