Brass Pendant

Kotoko, Chad
19th Century or earlier
Previous Collection: Michael Oliver, NYC.

Cast in the classic form of an equestrian figure, this small pendant showcases how diminutive objects can be just as detailed if not more than large objects. The features are extremely worn from generations of handling; while the integrity of the casting is still totally intact. The details of the figure and horse are both equally visible but delicately rounded from everyday use and wear. The equestrian gear attached from horse to the rider is still visible and show the intricate casting details of 19th century Chad metal smiths.

This pendant stands 1.5” tall and 1.25” long
