In the Akan kingdom during the 15-19th century; brass gold weights were used to measure gold dust. The human forms usually represented Akan proverbs. This example is a fine casting of a mother holding her child while sitting on a classic throne. The patina shows great evidence of wear through the generations. In excellent condition.
