Carved from extremely dense ironwood, this Hampatong literally “stands the test of time”. Its in the form of a monkey, an important being in Dayak mythology. Monkey figures are commonly depicted in the Dayak’s material culture accompanying recently deceased high ranking tribal members to the upper world.
